When life brings you rain - Catch it

Do you love the sound of rain falling, watching the droplets hit the ground and making a small splash? Have you ever given much thought about rain drops or rain in general? Some do not enjoy when it rains, but rain is so important to life. Why not sit back and enjoy the rain for once and even catch it.
There are so many ways you can really enjoy the rain instead of at times cursing it cause we get wet or it ruins or day. You can get cool Rain Catchers and watch and listen as the rain cascades down instead of the same old rain gutter. Or how about a Rain Barrel and catch that rain and recycle it to water your flowers and plants.
If you are interested in enjoying the rain next time it falls then you should check out my Squidoo page on all the ways you can catch that rain HERE.

The Black-Eyed Susan

The Black-Eyed Susan grows in my yard every year - does it grow in yours? I absolutely loves this wildflower and it is so easy to grow and every year it comes back bigger and better. Not only does it add great color to my yard I am able to take its seeds and make lots of new plants.
There are many varieties of Black-Eyed Susan, but most of us know the common Yellow and Brown Center variety.

Some quick facts for you: The Black-Eyed Susan is the state flower of Maryland. When cut, they have a vase life of 6 to 10 days. And they Reseed The botanic name for Black Eyed Susan is Rudbeckia Named after Olaus Olai Rudbeck (1660- 1740) a Swedish physician and botanist. And while black eyed is simple - the plants have a black eye - none of my resources tell me who Susan was. :-) Snails, slugs, and aphids eat the leaves of this plant. Rabbits and deer eat the entire plant.

So if you are looking to grow a Beautiful flower in your yard this year then check out my page on The Black Eyed Susan and you will find all the resources you need on care to buying the seeds.

Where do you put your Hose?

There are so many cool ways to store your hose - did you know that? Your Garden Hose that is. Forget that old way of winding it back up by hand or throwing in a pile. There are very nice Holders, Reels and Storage units that not only look nice but are functional as well. I use the kind that reels back up from the power of water - boy does that save me big headaches when it comes to yard work. So when you are looking for a way to store your hose you must look at all your options and forget the old ways and try something new. This year I am going to get a Hose Holder Container for my extra hose - I think they look really nice - a nice addition to my yard.
